Ryan Souza

Ryan Souza is a soul singer in the deepest sense. He connects to the story within every song and takes the listener on an unexpected journey. His musical career began as a pre-teen singing with his Mother and Father for different churches around town. Ryan continued to sing as a soloist for many churches throughout Oahu while attending the University of Hawaii majoring in Voice. Ryan completed his BA in Music with emphasis on Voice. He has been a chorus member of Hawaii Opera Theater since 1994 and has had several comprimario roles over the years. Ryan has studied voice with Marilyn Kim (Leeward), Laurence Paxton (University of Hawaii), Neva Rego, Arturo Spinetti (New York), and Seth Riggs (Los Angeles). Currently Ryan performs in Waikiki for Tihati Productions at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Royal Hawaiian Hotel, Princess Ka’iulani Hotel, and Hyatt. Together with his music partner Ruth Shiroma Foster they have done many showcases with the intent of sharing their gifts to inspire others. Teaching singing is a natural progression for Ryan since it is consistent with inspiring and helping others find themselves through building confidence, courage, and belief. They may not all become professional singers, but singing confidently will help build a professional mindset.
