Rebecca Woodland


Rebecca Woodland graduated from the University of Victoria (Canada) and taught elementary and middle school in Canada and Hawaii. She received her culinary training and certification as a Raw Vegan Chef and Instructor at Living Light Culinary Arts Institute (California) and has taken countless cooking classes in various places including New York, Mexico, and Vietnam. Rebecca worked as a wellness cuisine instructor at Castle Medical Center’s Wellness Center for a decade before joining Manoa School of Music and the Arts to teach hands-on vegetarian cooking classes. Rebecca Woodland has authored, co-authored, and edited several cookbooks, including The Blonde Vegetarian and Hawai’i Regional Cuisine (Island Heritage Publishing), The Freedom Cookbook, and Kicking Cancer (self-published).

Her mission is to teach people how to simplify and enjoy the process of food selection, preparation, and cooking, using food to promote health and happiness for the whole family ~ including the cook! Class themes explore a variety of cuisines from around the globe, including the cuisines of Thailand, France, Greece, Vietnam, Morocco, Italy, Peru, Mexico, Cambodia, and several other regions. Twice a year Rebecca hosts Food & Friendship Tours of southeast Asia and Mexico.
